Attachment 101
Our attachment patterns shape our experience of much of our adult life and can often form a significant part of any issue that a client may seek support with from therapy. As a counsellor/psychotherapist, being informed around attachment patterns, styles and issues can enhance the ways in which we understand, relate to and empathise with our clients.
Our Attachment 101 course is a robust introduction to:
Attachment Theory: Learn how classical and contemporary theorists understand attachment and how these models/teachings can be applied to encounters with clients.
Attachment Informed Practice: Explore the ways in which you might vary your practice/approach to working with clients in order to account for their attachment story.
Transference and Countertransference: Identify and address manifestations of your and your clients’ attachment patterns within the therapeutic relationship.
Attending to Your Own Attachment Style: Gain insights into your own attachment style and how it may impact your practice with clients.
